Metaversum GmbH, developer and operator of the 3D online world Twinity, today entered its public beta phase. At today’s press conference in Berlin, Berlin’s mayor Klaus Wowereit opened the virtual counterpart of Germany’s capital city Berlin in Twinity.

We have 3 blogs, and we’ve had some feedback from people that it’s not really clear to them which blog is which. We do a few different things as a company, and not all things interest everyone, so I hope that this blog posting will help clear up which blog will give what information. While it was a very busy and productive week internally, there’s not too much that I can share for now. Some brief highlights:

• A few new notes about Twinity. You can find links to them at the Twinity blog.
• The first Yumondo survey wrapped up.
• The Yumondo customer support survey is now active. Please take just a minute to give us your feedback there. We really want to give you the best support that we can, and this is how you can let us know if we are. And if we aren’t, this is where you can tell us how to make it better.
• New Yumondo stats will come at the end of September.
• No new polls this past week. I left them active to get a few more votes. I’ll have new ones next week.

It’s been a light blogging week for me, since I’ve been catching up after being out for a bit. Here are some of the highlights from the past week:

• Wrapped up my notes from State of Play, including day 4 notes and notes from my session on commercial applications of virtual worlds
• We have a new job in web development (focus on performance and scaling) posted
• Over at Yumondo, we had some new sites distributing invitations, a nice review, and a nice interview with a Yumondo member
• Twinity has been picked up and discussed on a few new sites. You can find out more about it on the Twinity blog.
