The team over there will be discussing Yumondo-specific issues in more detail, and also tell you what their team is up to. For instance, two of the Yumondo guys attended a BarCamp in Hamburg last weekend, and they’ve written up their thoughts on it.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve gone through a few hundred support requests from members of our Yumondo community. For a site in beta, that’s more or less to be expected. We’re really glad that you’re taking the time to let us know where we need to improve and what you like about the system. If you have any issues contact customer support or any if you feel that your requests for help are not being taken care of in a timely manner, please let us know. By the time this blog entry goes live, we’ll probably have 500 members in the Yumondo community. That’s fantastic! For us who work here at Metaversum, it’s surprising in a way, since it is, in fact, a closed beta, meaning that we control the number of users we let in, and whom we let in as well.
In practice, though, we’ve been getting applications out of the blue from people all over the world. We started with a user base of close friends and family, and almost exclusively centered around Berlin, Germany. We now have members from as far away as New Zealand, South Africa, Brazil, Indonesia, Mexico, and California, U.S.A. That’s really wonderful!
So thanks again to all those who have joined with us to help make Yumondo the early success that it has been! We hope you enjoy Yumondo, and please let us know if there’s anything we at Metaversum can do to improve Yumondo for you.
So here in the third posting on this blog, I want to take a few minutes to discuss what this blog is all about. This is the Metaversum corporate blog. We’re going to use this blog as a way to communicate with our customers, both from Yumondo and from other communities.
We want to reach out and give you as much information about us as a company and what we’re working on. And we’ll tell you a little bit about some of the people working here, and what they’re doing individually to help the community. Over time, we’ll be telling you about our upcoming product releases, updates to our services, scheduled maintenance, or issues with our sites that affect many customers. You’ll see announcements about Metaversum events, industry news and really anything that we feel is relevant to share with you. We’ll also have blog postings from time to time that are just open ongoing question and answer sessions. Feel free to send in any questions for us during those, and of course we always appreciate any questions and feedback on any of the topics that we post about here.
We’re working on a blog comment spam filter, but since that’s never perfect, we’ll probably be moderating comments most of the time, but rest assured that we will only edit comments that are inappropriate for this setting. We don’t want to censor, we just want to avoid any spam links for all those questionable sites on the web.
Our urban style sharing platform Yumondo has been online and in closed beta for about the past 4 weeks. During that time, we’ve seen a lot of growth in the community. That’s really exciting for us, and I want to take a moment to say a personal thank you to all our community members.
